Onto day three of Glorious Goodwood and it doesn’t get any easier.
They’ve done such a great job with the prize money over the years that the meeting has become even more of a focal point than it used to be.
It’s so competitive and to get any winner during the week is a real achievement. We have five on Thursday and we’d be over the moon if one could win.

Fox Premier 8/1 was disappointing in the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot last time and there were no obvious excuses after the race.
We thought he was going there with a big chance, but as we all know, any horse can have an off day. We’re dropping back to 1m2f in this handicap and he’s two from two over the distance which is encouraging.
He’s a very capable horse and we just have to hope he can return to the form of his wins earlier in the season.

The Richmond Stakes looks a very strong race and we decided to run Symbolize 9/1 in this rather than the Molecomb on Wednesday, as we were keen to try him at six furlongs.
I thought he was the horse to take out of the Windsor Castle. He was drawn away from the main challengers, which probably cost him.
He’s quite a handy horse and I definitely think he’s up to this grade. He has the ability, it’s just as question as to whether the trip will definitely suit him, but it should on a speed track like Goodwood.
Threat 5/1 look the main dangers after their strong runs in the Coventry at Royal Ascot.

The Gordon Stakes is always a very good race and whoever runs well in this will be looking at the St Leger next.
Aidan O’Brien’s Constantinople 4/1 is the standout.
He was hugely impressive in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket and put in a very strong time figure. I think he has a serious chance in the St Leger.

Three-year-olds have a good record in the Nassau Stakes and I think that will continue on Thursday. They get a handy weight allowance, which is very important at this time of the year.
Hermosa 6/1 didn’t look to stay in the Oaks and should be better suited to this trip.
I was hugely impressed with Mehdaayih 7/2 when she won the Cheshire Oaks, though. She bolted up that day and had a nightmare passage at Epsom so you can put a line through that run. She would be the one for me.

When Comes Here SP runs in the seven furlong nursery and he is a horse with ability. We were a bit disappointed he couldn’t win at Brighton, but he is talented for this sort of mark.
It looks a very tough race and he hasn’t got the best draw in stall 11.
In races over seven furlongs or a mile at Goodwood, it’s almost imperative to have a single-figure draw as the bend comes up quickly and you start on a camber.
You need a lot of luck drawn out wide.

We’re looking forward to Hold Fast SP making her debut in the seven furlong fillies’ maiden. She’s a filly we like a lot and I’m sure she’s going to end up being fairly useful.
She’s had a racecourse gallop at Kempton, but this is first time out and there are always stacks of nice fillies in this race. Anything can happen in a maiden like this but we do like her.

Pass The Gin SP won well over six furlongs at Chester last time. Slightly slower ground would be ideal for her and what she really wants is an end-to-end gallop which she should get here.
It's another wide open race but she has an each-way chance.
