We only have a couple of runners on Friday and they’re both outsiders, but we’re back with a bigger team on Saturday. I think anyone would say that they’d be delighted with one winner during Glorious Goodwood and we’re no different.

Foxtrot Lady  goes for the Oak Tree Stakes and she’s been disappointing this season really. We’re hoping the step up to seven furlongs and a turning track will suit her.

She wasn’t beaten far in last year’s Stewards’ Cup, so we know she can perform here and I think the round track will be perfect.

The draw could have been a bit kinder, but she’s been working well at home and has an each-way chance, although Jubiloso  looks the standout in this race to me.

The Group Three over a mile looks wide open, but I’ll be cheering on Paul Cole’s Duke Of Hazzard  for owners Jim and Fitri Hay who are big supporters of ours.

This horse was really impressive in a Listed race at Newmarket last month in first-time blinkers and he should be hard to beat.

The Golden Mile is one of the most valuable handicaps of the summer and the draw always plays a big part. It’s so important to get a low draw and the favourite Mojito  is in nine which isn’t too bad.

He looked like a Group horse when winning at Sandown last month and he’s the obvious one in this. Game Player  and Beat Le Bon  both have good draws and they could be the main dangers to the favourite.

Battaash  has won the last two runnings of the King George Stakes and this really looks like a penalty kick for him.

I’d love to see him win, he’s a high class horse and has so much speed. Goodwood just seems to suit him perfectly and even though he will be a very short price, I’m sure everyone will be cheering him on.

Goodwood nurseries are notoriously complex puzzles to unravel and I wouldn’t really know where to start with this one over six furlongs.

The old saying is to go with top weights in nurseries and Mark Johnston has two at the head of the weights, Praxeology  and Eton College  , who are both on a hat-trick. They could be the ones to go with.

The Group Three Queen’s Plate looks between Mirage Dancer  and Baghdad  . Mirage Dancer won it last year and he’s unbeaten in three starts over course and distance so he’s going to be a tough nut to crack.

Baghdad is a very gutsy and brave horse, though, typical of one from Mark Johnston’s yard and it should be a very interesting contest between the two.

17:15

Our other runner on Friday is Top Power  . He has had a long break since his last run and this will be his first start on turf.

Fitness won’t be an issue as he’s done plenty of work at home and I think he’s fairly treated off a mark of 82.

He is definitely capable of running well at a decent price.
