Saturday Haydock runners

Auriferous  is still a maiden, but I think he’s genuine and has run well this year. He’s at the right end of the handicap and could sneak into the places (14:05).

Tribal Craft  wouldn’t want the ground too fast. She’s in great form at home and has improved a huge amount this season. If all goes well for her, she could have a squeak (14:40).

Alounak   ran fairly well at Royal Ascot and has been dropped a couple of pounds. A return to the form of his Hardwicke second would give him a massive chance and, with this being his type of race, I think he could go well (15:15).

Fivethousandtoone  runs in a conditions race at Haydock (16:25). Obviously, he was below par at Royal Ascot, but we hope that was due to the ground as it was very soft on the Friday.

It was his first run of the year, so he is entitled to come on for that and this is a drop in class. He’s a horse we think a lot of, so hopefully we can see him get back on track.

Saturday Sandown runners

Stone Of Destiny  wants the ground to dry up. There are morning showers forecast at Sandown, which would be a concern, but he’s in grand form and has ran three cracking races this year. If it’s not too slow for him, I think he’ll go well (13:50).

Auria  should like the mile at Sandown and these are probably her optimum conditions. She’s run two solid races this year with the promise of more to come, so we’re hopeful for her (15:00).

Pivoine is another who wouldn’t want the ground too slow. He’s in great form and is a course-and-distance winner, so I’m hopeful he could be competitive (16:10).

Sunday Chelmsford runners

Quickstep Lady has a lot to do on ratings, but she’s a decent horse who does have ability to go well at this level. It would be great if she could sneak into a place and get some black type (15:27).

Fantalope has been off a while but shaped with promise on her debut. She seems in good nick at home and could go well, but will improve for the run (17:12).
