Andrew Balding: My thoughts on our 4 Saturday runners
The Betway ambassador previews all of his runners at Newmarket and Newbury on Saturday.
We’ve only got four runners over what is a rare quiet weekend for us.
It’s been a very busy time of late and we’re delighted with how they’re running.
13:40 Newmarket
Senorita got the hang of things late at Lingfield. She got intimidated down on the rail, but she would have learned from that.
Newmarket should suit her better and I wouldn’t be surprised if she ran well.
13:50 Newbury
Fox Tal is complicated, but he does have plenty of ability. He’s often not looked the most genuine but, in fairness to him, he’s run four solid races in a row now.
He’s a tough horse to win with but, on ability, he would have a chance if everything fell right.
15:00 Newbury
King’s Lynn has an obvious chance.
He had no luck in two runs at Royal Ascot and seems to have stepped up this year.
He’s in good form and, although you have to respect the two horses that finished behind Chil Chil at Newcastle last time, he shouldn’t be far away on his best form.
16:45 Newbury
Fantalope ran a good race at Chelmsford last time to finish second, which was a good improvement from her first run.
The big concern would be the drying ground, but we’ll make a call on that on the day.
