Saturday runners

Galactic Jack  won well enough last time, although I’m not sure what he achieved as the immediate form hasn’t been franked. He’ll keep improving, though (13:50 Newmarket).

Chaldean   runs in what looks to be the best two-year-old race of the year (15:00 Newmarket). It looks top class even with the recent defections. We were all delighted with him at Doncaster, but he’ll have to step up again.

Ranch Hand  carries top weight and, naturally, that’ll make life tough for him (15:40 Newmarket). I’ve been pleased with him, and he ran well on his last start.

Kadovar   is going to be needing the experience on his first run and will likely be seen to better effect next term (15:50 York).

Chil Chil  ran well last time over a trip that is probably just too sharp for her. She’s stepping back up to 6f and she should run well (16:50 Newmarket).

Kay Ceraar  is having his first start, so whatever he does he’ll improve form (16:53 Chelmsford). He’s started to shape up of late, but he might just benefit from this first run.

Schmilsson   has been a touch disappointing, but he’s had some tough assignments. He’s another who I think has a good race in him (17:00 York).

Friday runners

Carolus Magnus  ran well enough in the Cambridgeshire last time, but they got racing way too early on his side and, as a result, it took its toll in the last furlong. He’s been in solid form this year and the only big question mark is how he’ll handle slower ground (14:40 York).

Neandra  will love the ground (15:50 York). The more rain they get the better for her. She’s reasonably well-handicapped and could be competitive for a place.

Berkshire Rebel  has struggled this year but he’s a grand horse who will have another day in the sun. He ran well in the Zetland this time last year, so he could run well in the Autumn again. (16:10 Newmarket).

Silvretta   ran well first time out. She didn’t get the rub of the green during the race as she was squeezed up at vital stage. If she improves from that, she could give a good account of herself (17:15 Newmarket).

Achelois  has had a great year. She’s been solid all campaign, but this is a step up in class for her (17:50 Newmarket).
