All Go  (13:30 Beverley) was a good second to a useful horse at Brighton last time. She has a bit to find on ratings, but this slightly stiffer track will suit her better.

Vazire  (14:01 Chester) has a fair bit to find up against the Haggas horse, but she’s had a break and has come on for that run. She’s going in the right direction, and I think the flat track at Chester will suit her.

Invite   (14:55 Haydock) was disappointing at Chester last time. She needs the rain to fall, though, as she’s a real mudlark. She needs to settle and the application of a hood could help her switch off. On her best form from last year, she could go very close.

Spirit Mixer  (15:10 Chester) is on a hat-trick now, having won very well at Chelmsford last time. The handicapper has had his say but he’s effective on a tight track and seems to handle most conditions. He’s a horse who is improving and should give another good account of himself.

Chateau (15:15 Beverley) is a horse we like a lot. He was very unlucky on his debut at Salisbury, but he’ll have come on for that experience. He’s worked to a good level at home, and although it’s a strong race – an Ascot trial, in fact – he’s got the ability to go close.

Happy Power  (15:30 Haydock) runs in the John Of Gaunt at Haydock. He’s in the form of his life. For a horse of his age, he’s got boundless enthusiasm. He did what he had to at Leicester last time and, although this is a step up in grade, he shouldn’t be too far away.

Teumessias Fox  (17:30 Chester) shaped like he wanted this trip last time. He was beaten by a well-handicapped horse at Salisbury. He gets plenty of weight from his elders and should go well from stall one.
