Koy Koy 15/8 has been ready to go for a while now as he was due to run at Newbury, but the ground was just too quick for him. They’ve had plenty of rain up in Chester, which will suit him. He has a nice draw and although this is a competitive race, I hope he’ll run well (14:05).
Harrow 8/1 is stepping up in trip now (14:40 Chester). I don’t think the ground will be a problem for him and he’s shaped as though he’d stay this distance. If he does, I hope he runs a decent race.
Alounak 10/1 is having his first run of the year, although he usually improves for his first outing. He’s got decent form in the book from last year and he’s well drawn, so is capable of running well (15:10 Chester).
Invite 10/1 was disappointing first time out this season, but the ground was very quick, and the race wasn’t run to suit her. She’s come on since then at home and, with the rain falling, she’s got a solid chance (15:10 Chester).
Group One Power 9/1 badly needed his first run at Chelmsford, and he’s improved for that in what he’s shown us at home. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ran very well (15:40 Chester).
Estate 9/1 is having the first run of his career (16:15 Chester). He’s not got the best draw, but there have been a couple of withdrawals in the race. He’s a breeze-up horse, so is one of the more precocious types and has seemed switched on since we’ve had him.
Hoffman 9/2 won well at Brighton last week and is 2lb well in (16:50 Chester). He won’t mind the ground and, as Brighton suited him, you’d expect he wouldn’t have an issue with Chester. His fitness is obviously good, but this is a step up in grade for him.
Upton Park 5/2 must have a chance, but it is difficult to carry a penalty in novice races (20:00 Chelmsford).
