Attache SP (14:15 Newbury) has been consistent at this level, especially now that we’ve established 7f is his trip. Conditions should suit him well and he should go close.
Coltrane 6/1 (14:25 York) has been in great form all year. He seems to be in good nick at home, too. He’d have to improve to turn the tables with Stradivarius and Trueshan – if he runs – but the only time he’s raced at York he did win impressively, so maybe he can bridge the gap slightly.
Nate The Great 50/1 also runs in the same race (14:25 York). He is a really tough horse to place now. There are limited options for horses like him so he can either stay at home in his box or run in some of these top races and try to nick some of the minor prize money on offer.
Chateau 11/1 (15:00 York) got caught out by Goodwood last time. The track just didn’t suit him. He’s got a bit to find with Royal Scotsman, but he has a 3lb swing at the weights and on a flatter track should be there or thereabouts.
VE Day SP (15:20 Newbury) is having his first run in a handicap. This test should suit him better than novice races and he’ll improve for his recent Southwell run.
Glenfinnan 16/1. There’s isn’t a lot between either of them, so I hope they’ll both run with credit.
Rajwaan SP (17:27 Salisbury) was too keen last time, so this drop back to 6f should suit him well. We hope they get a touch of rain, which would give him every chance.
Stormbuster SP (18:35 Salisbury) is still a maiden but he’s running in a listed race as we think he’ll be a handy horse going forward. His maiden form is strong and has improved at home from run to run. As he’s a homebred getting black type is important and he could sneak into the placings.
Love Mystery SP (19:45 Salisbury) has been a bit disappointing this year but ran well at Ascot last time, where he probably needed it. An improved run wouldn’t surprise me.
