We move on to day two of the Ebor Festival. We only have one runner again, this time in the last race of the day.

The star of the day is Enable, though, who will surely win the Yorkshire Oaks before going on to try to win a historic third Arc in October.

13:55

Some very good fillies have won the Lowther over the years and the obvious pick this year is John Quinn’s Liberty Beach .

I was very impressed with her at Goodwood and even though this will be her first try at six furlongs, you need that raw speed here.

She will be very hard to beat. The main danger is probably Under The Stars who won the Princess Margaret at Ascot last month.

14:25

I’ll be cheering on King Power’s Rayong  in the big sales race. Karl Burke and his team have always liked him and he’s been highly tried this season.

He was unlucky in the Windsor Castle and then ran well behind Liberty Beach at Sandown. I think six furlongs at this track will play to his strengths and I hope he can win.

Show Me Show Me was second in the Super Sprint two starts back and then third to Liberty Beach in the Molecomb, so you’d expect him to be there or thereabouts.

15:00

David O’Meara does well in this type of race, so Baltic Baron , who Danny Tudhope rides, has to be of interest. He has run well a few times this season and was unlucky in the Golden Mile at Goodwood last time.

He has three others in the race and looks to have all angles covered, so I’d say it’s best to stick with him.

15:35

There isn't much more to say about Enable . She’s an absolutely brilliant racehorse and is impossible to oppose in the Yorkshire Oaks.

Magical will make a race of it, but she hasn’t been able to beat her so far.

Lah Ti Dar could make it a one-two for the Gosden stable. She was so impressive in the Galtres last year and if that York form stacks up she may be the one to chase home her stablemate.

16:15

I must admit that I don’t have much of a view on the Galtres Stakes - it looks fairly open.

Dermot Weld likes to target this meeting and his Search For A Song was fourth in the Irish Oaks last time. She has only had three runs so is still unexposed.

Frankellina ran well when a close second in the Musidora here earlier in the season and should appreciate going back up to a 1½m after finishing third in a 1¼m Listed race here last month.

16:50

Our only runner of the day is Whitefountainfairy  in the closing seven furlong fillies’ handicap. We won the race last year with Crossing The Line and it would be lovely to do it again.

She was very unlucky at Goodwood last time, but wouldn’t want the ground to dry out too much.

The draw in stall 18 isn’t ideal, but she’s in really good form at home and I think she’s very well-handicapped. Hopefully she comes here with every chance.
