Andrew Balding: We're excited for our 8 runners on Wednesday
The Betway ambassador gives the lowdown on all his Wednesday runners at Kempton Park and the first meeting back on turf at Great Yarmouth.
12:45 Great Yarmouth
We run the unbeaten Group One Power in this competitive-looking handicap but we’re hopeful there is more to come.
There is a question mark around the fast ground, but only because he has never raced on it. That said, he’s in good form at home and will give it his best shot.
13:20 Great Yarmouth
Johnny Kidd has been off the track since last August but takes his chance in a handicap off a mark of 74.
He was progressive last season and is ready to get back on a racecourse following plenty of work this spring. He’s run well on fast ground, so we’re hopeful he’ll acquit himself well.
15:40 Great Yarmouth
He disappointed first time up, but All You Wish improved and got the job done at Kempton on his second start.
He should be competitive but does have a penalty to carry, which always toughens the task somewhat.
13:00 Kempton Park
It’s frustrating that Never Dark is still a maiden, but we’re dropping him back in trip as he’s shown good speed in his races and at home.
It’ll be good to get him off the mark but it’s a competitive handicap with just 3lb separating the field.
14:10 Kempton Park
Horn of Plenty runs in the Novice Stakes and it’s a hot-looking contest. We’re just looking forward to getting her started.
14:45 Kempton Park
Berlin Tango goes in the Classic Trial and, while it looks a good race on paper, we’re happy where we are with him and he’s got some good form in the book.
He needed the run at Kempton in March, and the fact that he’s been out this year that may just give him a slight fitness edge over some of the others.
The extra two furlongs is a question mark, but we’re hopeful he can stay.
15:20 Kempton Park
Oloroso has been a bit hit-and-miss but has some good course form and goes well fresh, so we’re hopeful rather than confident.
If the horse that was a good second at Kempton last time out turns up, then he’s sure to give a solid account of himself.
15:55 Kempton Park
Foxtrot Lady runs in the Snowdrop and it’s fair to say that she has a bit to find on official figures, but we’re happy with her and she went nicely in a recent gallop at Kempton.
We’ve taken our time going up in trip with her, but she has shaped as though she’ll want further and we’re looking forward to getting her going.
