Sunday runners

13:50 Newbury

Barossa Red  absolutely loves soft ground. The softer the better so, for his sake, we’ll be hoping that the heavens open.

He’s in good form at home and should give a good account of himself.

17:40 Newbury

Stratacaster makes his debut in a Novice Stakes and, although I think he’ll be a good horse in time, I also think he’s the type to learn plenty from his first outing and will benefit from getting a run under his belt.

Saturday runners

13:15 Newbury

Alcohol Free  has her first career start in the opening race at Newbury and she’s one we’re looking forward to seeing run.

We’ve been very pleased with what she has shown us at home. She’s shown a good level of ability but hasn’t done as much on the grass as some of our other two-year-olds, so she might just lack that bit of experience.

15:00 Newbury

Morando  has an obvious chance in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes, providing the forecasted rain falls.

He’s very talented on his day and has been in good form at home, but he must get his toe in and, the wetter it is, the better his chances.

15:15 Newmarket

Angel Grey  runs in the Betway Grey Horse Handicap at Newmarket and, if she runs to her best form, she could have a squeak.

You could say she’s better over 7f these days, but she loves fast ground, so we’re hopeful she’ll get that at Newmarket.

15:35 Newbury

Symbolize   ran very well in the Jersey Stakes at Ascot on his first run of this season but was slightly disappointing at York on his next start.

Make no mistake, this is a tough race that looks very competitive on paper, but if he does run a similar race to Ascot, then he might not be too far away.

15:45 Chepstow

Night On Earth was a little below par at Glorious Goodwood, but this race is much calmer waters and, fingers crossed, he should take all of the beating.

Will Carver’s claim negates the penalty, which should also be a big help.

17:00 Newmarket

We’ve been really pleased with Table Mountain  this season. She’s progressed nicely and, while she’s hiked up in the weights, this is the right sort of race for her.

She’s going the right way so should be competitive if she handles a potentially quicker surface.

17:05 Doncaster

King’s Lynn  has his first start of the season at Doncaster. He had a hold up in the spring but is back in good form now.

He’s a good horse in the making, so we’re very hopeful that he’ll return to winning ways.
