NEWMARKET

Like most of Nathaniel’s, Dashing Willoughby  would probably prefer a little cut in the ground in the 13:50.

We’ve been pleased with him, but his best form is best with some juice in the ground. I’m keen to get a run into him to see where we are before making a fancy entry in the Ascot Gold Cup.

Like all the racing now, the 14:25 is competitive and well contested, but Good Birthday should run well off his mark. He ran well in the Cambridgeshire and this extra furlong should suit him too.

He’s been gelded and seems to have benefitted from that procedure. He may prefer a little give in the ground, but it’ll just be good to get him started.

We don’t have a runner in the 1000 Guineas (15:35), but I do think Quadrilateral   will take all the beating. She’s pure class and I’d love it if Jason Watson – who started his career with us – could win his first classic.

The 16:10 is a bit of a fact-finding mission for Bell Rock, as he’s been off the track a long time.

He was never right last season, but we’ve been pleased with him recently and I’m hopeful he can run well.

Bronze River has done nothing wrong at all and I think the track will suit him in the 17:55. He’ll definitely stay further in time but he’s on a good mark and, while this race is always really strong, he’s in good form and ought to go well.

HAYDOCK

Berkshire Savvy is a nice horse but won’t want the ground too quick in the 13:30.

With that in mind, we’ll be taking a look again over the weekend to see whether he runs as we’d just appreciate some of the rain falling for him.

On the flip side, Shailene  loves fast ground and will appreciate it if the rain misses Haydock for the Betway Pinnacle Stakes (14:05).

The race has cut up, but with the ground and trip in her favour I’m looking forward to getting her started.

The Betway Brigadier Gerard Stakes (14:40) is a strong race on paper but Bangkok  is a class act and can mix it with the best of them. He’s got the benefit of a more recent run than some of them and that may just help him.

We’re keen to get a run into Pivoine  before making any entries for Ascot, but whatever he does, he’ll come on for the run.

Finally, we've got Happy Power   in the Betway Spring Trophy (15:15). He was successful on his first start last season and ran plenty of good races in defeat throughout the season too.

It’s another very competitive race, but he’s been going well at home and it’ll be good to get him back.

LINGFIELD

Herodotus been settling much better than last year, which is allowing us to train him the way we’d like to. His mark seems fair and he should give a solid account of himself in the 14:15.

Berkshire Philly ran a couple of good races at Wolverhampton last season and she has developed well over the winter, so I hope she fares well in the 16:00.
