As always, with the season coming to a close, we have fewer runners than normal.

We have one runner in the UK this weekend and we’re hopeful she can get some black type.

Be More  loves the sort of ground she'll get at Newmarket (14:40). It’s a really competitive race with just five runners - but if she can just beat two home she’ll get the all-important black type, which will be great for her future.

Dashing Willoughby should suit the Melbourne Cup

Initially, we were really disappointed by Dashing Willoughby's run in the Caulfield Cup, but the race wasn’t run to suit and we know he’s much better than that.

He worked on Friday morning under Michael Walker, in a solo piece, and he was very pleased with him. He’s really come on in the last few days, which is highly encouraging.

The extra half a mile and a big field should suit him well in the Melbourne Cup, so it’s all systems go and - priced at - we’re crossing our fingers that he can deliver the big run that we know he has in him.

Kameko is on his way to America

Kameko is currently in transit to Kentucky. He left Kingsclere at around 7am this morning and made his way to the airport.

I’ve been really pleased with him of late. His work has been good, and he looked particularly great in a gallop at Kempton earlier this week.

When you send horses over to places like Australia or America, you want them in peak physical condition for the journey so you don’t leave too much to do when they get over there.

It’s tough to know how they’ll handle their long journeys, but, generally, a good barometer is looking at their overall wellbeing and their appetite.

If they’re showing their usual traits and they’re eating up well, it tends to mean that they’re in good spirits.

I’m going over there on Wednesday and I’m really looking forward to it, even though it’ll no doubt be different from my previous trips.

I’ve had two runners at Keeneland in the past and both of them placed. Here’s hoping Kameko can provide me with my first winner there in the Breeders Cup Mile next weekend.
