It’s a relatively quiet weekend for us in terms of runners, but we’ve got a select team declared up and down the country, and it would be nice to get another winner on the board before a busy week next week.

SATURDAY RUNNERS

Newmarket 14:40

If we get the rain that is forecast, then Happy Power  should have his optimum conditions. To be honest, if it were to rain more than what has been forecast, then we wouldn’t be disheartened, as he does handle soft ground.

He ran a decent race at Haydock on his comeback and has been going well since. I’m looking forward to seeing him run.

Newcastle 15:00

Look Around   has got an obvious chance in the Hoppings Stakes following her good run in a strong-looking Diomed Stakes.

There are, however, two slight questions marks – it’s her first time on a synthetic surface and she’s going up 2f. There is nothing to suggest that either would be a hindrance, but we simply don’t know until we try.

She’s got some good form in the book. She was a Listed winner at two years old and has also been placed in Group company.

Lingfield 16:55

Irish Tweed  has been fairly difficult to train as she’s been rather hot. We got a run into her earlier this week, but we knew it was going to be too sharp for her. This trip should suit her better.

We’ve always hoped she’d be able to showcase some of her natural ability, but she’s got to learn and get her head right and that will come in time.

Newmarket 17:00

On the bare form, Table Mountain  does have a bit to find, but she will keep galloping to the end, so could pick up any pieces at the business end of the race.

She’s one for staying handicaps later down the line.

Lingfield 19:00

Berkshire Philly  is another one with an obvious chance. We were due to go to Bath, but we knew it would be too firm, so we waited for this race on the polytrack.

There’s no secrets with her – everyone knows everything about her – but she always gives her best and, on that, I’d be hopeful that she’ll go well.

SUNDAY RUNNERS

Windsor 12:45

Kafee  should be competitive as he seems to have improved from his recent run at Wolverhampton. He didn’t get the best of runs that day, but I’m hopeful that won’t be the case again.

Windsor 15:00

Foxtrot Lady   just found the 7f too sharp last time, but the race she ran in at Kempton on the second day of the resumption has worked out well.

She’s been going well at home, but she wouldn’t want too many heavy showers.

Newmarket 16:30

Grace And Danger  was a shade disappointing at Doncaster last time, but it was obvious for all to see that she was way too keen.

It’s tough race she’s in, make no mistake about that, but if she settles better, then she might not be too far away.
