Holguin (15:05) is a horse we really like. He’s always looked smart at home and won well on his debut at Newbury. This race will actually suit him better than his previous run where he was beaten at Newmarket. We set it up for Richard Hannon’s horse, Persian Force, that day.

We don’t have a lot to find, yet Persian Force is and we’re around ten times that price. If we get some luck, we’ve got place possibilities.

King’s Lynn (15:40) ran very well in this race last year, where he was also slightly unlucky. He’s got good course form and is in great order at home, so we go there in hope. The two overseas raiders could be exceptional, so we’ll find out where our British sprinters stand on a global scale.

Berkshire Shadow (16:20) won the Coventry last year and did well all season. He ran in the 2000 Guineas on his comeback, and looked very good. He’s a pretty good horse, but so is Coroebus, who won the Guineas, so we know it won’t be easy. He’ll have a fighting chance at a big price.

Coltrane (17:00) is stepping up a couple of furlongs but his gallant second in the Chester Cup suggested to us that he’ll get this trip. The big question mark is whether he’ll cope with the quicker ground as well as he handles ground with a bit of cut in it, but it’s an open race and he’s in good form.

Foxes Tales (17:35) didn’t truly stay last time. I think he’d have a very good chance if he wasn’t drawn in the car park. That draw is going to make life a little harder, but he goes there in good form and has the ability to run well.

Alounak  (18:10) was very disappointing last time, and I can’t fathom why, but this race is much more his sort of bag. It’s a bigger field with a chance to get some cover, which is what he loves. He’s got good course form, but he needs to put that previous run behind him.
