The Betway ambassador previews his chances for the fifth day of the Royal Meeting at Ascot.

Masekela 4/1 is a horse I love. He was good on his debut at Goodwood and it was soft enough that day, so he has a little experience with cut in the ground.

We’re not sure how soft will be too soft, but he is a horse we really like (14:30).

Tactical 16/1 is very versatile ground-wise. He’s won on both fast and soft ground and, with that said, I’d like to think that these are likely to be his optimum conditions.

He’s in great form and I think he’ll run well (15:05).

Bangkok 66/1 would really like a faster surface. Soft ground isn’t ideal for him, so we’ll just make a call with the owners (15:40).

Happy Power 25/1 won’t mind the rain. I think a stiff six on soft ground will suit him well.

He’s in good form at home and ran well in the Lockinge at Newbury last time. He could run well at a big price (16:20).

Chil Chil 16/1 is another who really wouldn’t favour ground this soft. She loves fast ground.

I’d be very surprised if she could run to her level in these conditions (17:00).

King’s Lynn 9/2 won’t mind the ground, but the question mark around him is whether he will fully get a stiff six on soft ground (17:00).

He’s turned into a very smart 5f horse who has seemingly come out of his run on Tuesday well.

Foxes Tales 11/1 ran OK at Chester, but I’m not sure if it was the ground or the track that he didn’t act on.

He’s lightly raced, and his best days are ahead of him. His half-brother loves this type of ground, so we’re hoping he does too (17:35).

Morando 6/1 will love the ground. He’s a fantastic stalwart in the yard who is a real pleasure to have around.

Obviously, the question mark surrounds his stamina limitations, but we won’t know until we find out (18:10). He’s in good form at home.

Cleonte 28/1 is probably better on quicker ground at this stage in his career. He might not be fully in love with these conditions, but he is a resolute stayer and that’s his ace card (18:10).
