We’re so excited to have two runners at Royal Ascot this year. It’s the biggest meeting in the world and to have two horses going is a real boost for the yard.

Longbourn runs on Friday, and I’ve been very happy with him. Both he and Warrior Brave, who runs in the Wokingham on Saturday, travelled over on Wednesday and had a good journey over. They got to the course late at night, but that was intentional so that they could avoid any traffic coming in and out of London.

They’re both very relaxed and have had sighters of the track, the pre-parade and the parade ring. I’m pleased that they’ve both seemingly taken it in their stride and have settled in well.

Friday - 15:40

Longbourn  has solid form on good to firm ground. He did his final piece of work at the start of the week, and I was pleased with him. His own Amanda Torrens has never been to Royal Ascot, nor has she ever had a runner there, so she’s as excited as we are, as you can imagine. We’re just hoping for a bit of luck.

Saturday - 17:00

Warrior Brave will need more luck than Longbourn as he’s in a 28-runner handicap sprint race. Sprint races at a lower level are tricky to win as the fractions are so tight, so this is going to be on another level. He’s in good form, though. I’ve kept him fresh and ticking over.

He’s drawn in stall three. I don’t know where the pace will come from and sometimes you only know once the race is off, but we’re hoping there’s plenty on his side.

His owner Eleanora Kennedy has also never been to Royal Ascot, nor had a runner. She flew in from America on Thursday and is no doubt going to enjoy her experience.

It's the hardest place in the world to have a winner, but we’re happy with ours and just hope they both run respectable races.
