It’s another really open field in the first race so, with five places up for grabs, I’m going to go for two each-way chances.

I was very keen on Will To Win but, given he’s now a non-runner, I’ll opt for CITY WALK  .

The colt finished third behind stablemate Well Of Wisdom, who won nicely at Sandown last Saturday, but struggled over 6f at Kempton last time out. He’s well-handicapped and the drop back to 5f should suit.

The other one I like is GOLDEN DRAGON  , who has won two nice races at Windsor and wasn’t too far behind in Group 3 company last time out at Newmarket.

The filly that has really caught my eye in the Albany is SETARHE  .

I was impressed with her debut at Newmarket where she powered home ahead of Cirrus.

Andrea Atzeni and Roger Varian have already tasted success on Fujaira Prince this week and look set for more here.

I’d also keep your eye on DANDALLA  , who enjoyed strong two-length victory at Newcastle on debut. With Ben Curtis in solid form, he could run on well at a big price.

14:25

My faith in Frankie Dettori on Thursday didn’t quite pay off but I think he should get the job done here on EYE OF HEAVEN  .

He’s highly rated and won nicely on debut in a Betway Novice Stakes at Newmarket two weeks ago.

There is a lot of hype around this colt and he could turn out to be a a very good two-year-old.

The Group 2 Hardwicke is up next and, despite Jim Crowley’s incredible form this week, I’m taking on Elarqam with ANTHONY VAN DYCK  .

Last year’s Derby winner has struggled to kick on since but looked back to his very best in the Coronation Cup two weeks ago.

He finished like a train to secure second behind Ghaiyyath and was over two lengths ahead of Stradivarius. Given Stradivarius romped home to secure a third successive Gold Cup by 10 lengths on Thursday, that’s a big form boost.

15:35

This is an intriguing Commonwealth Cup but the one who stands out to me is GOLDEN HORDE  .

He was a Group 2 winner at Goodwood last year, finishing ahead of Threat, and has since put in two very good efforts in Group 1s – both of which were narrow defeats to the unbeaten Earthlight.

I think Clive Cox has a very nice colt on his hands and he looks the one to beat.

MUMS TIPPLE   is a winner over course and distance and absolutely annihilated the field at York by a monstrous 11 lengths last year, but he hasn’t run to that standard since.

I’m not sure he’s a Group 1 horse but this price makes it a nice each-way bet.

16:10

BORN WITH PRIDE   was a surprising 20/1 winner at Newmarket on debut in November, beating Peaceful, who has since gone on to win the Irish 1000 Guineas.

She was never in contention in the Classic Trial last time out but I’m confident she can bounce back in these famous colours.

16:40

I’m going for another two each-way chances in the last race of the day, the first of which is Godolphin’s DUBAI FUTURE  .

The colt has been consistent with two wins and two seconds from five runs.

He was just over a length behind stablemate Secret Advisor in Group 3 action at Meydan last time out and, despite carrying top weight, I’m hopeful he’ll get among the places.

The other one I like is David Simcock’s UNIVERSAL ORDER  .

He’s another who has been very consistent with four wins and two places from seven runs.

He won nicely at Meydan in January but then was very disappointing in defeat – also to Secret Advisor – last time out.

Stevie Donohoe seems to get the best out of this horse and I’m hoping he’ll produce another big run.

WIN DOUBLE
