14:30 Ascot - Eve Lodge (each-way)

Eve Lodge was a very good winner of a soft ground novice race at Lingfield recently and that shows she won’t mind the rain that will fall over Ascot.

She was a real eye-catcher over 5f at Ascot on debut in a race that has worked out well, and I think she should be competitive here despite this race looking a very strong renewal.

15:05 Ascot - Yibir (each-way)

I’m looking forward to seeing Yibir, who has always been very highly thought of. He ran in two very strong juvenile races before breaking his maiden at Sandown, and then he followed up by winning the Haynes, Hanson and Clark at Newbury, a race which is always hotly contested.

He’s run okay in three starts this season but has since been gelded, and if that brings out any improvement in him he could be a force to be reckoned with at this level.

16:20 - Alcohol Free (each-way)

I’m still of the thinking that she’s never really had things go entirely her way, despite managing to win a couple of Group races in her short career so far. She was unlucky in the 1000 Guineas, having been drawn out on the wing and her trainer, Betway ambassador Andrew Balding, mentioned she came back with a few spots on her, so perhaps wasn’t at her best but still ran on to finish narrowly beaten.

She’s drawn in the middle, so she should get some cover and that could suit her well under Oisin Murphy.

4 To Win selections

15:40 - Suesa

Unbeaten in four starts and will handle soft ground. She could be top class.

17:00 - Create Belief

She bolted up at The Curragh last time and could still be improving.

17:35 - Sam Cooke

Ran well last time out but needed the run. Likes soft ground.

18:10 - Hala Hala Hala

A smart horse as a two-year-old and looks nicely handicapped now.
