13:30 Ascot: JUBILYMPICS

Second choice: Oscar Rose

This is a very closely-weighted field for this handicap hurdle, specifically for female horses.

The range of prices also suggests that all of them are in with a good chance.

Mares older than seven have a poor record over the last decade so we can get rid of Perfect Summer and Kentford Heiress from our equations.

Oscar Rose and Petticoat Tails were both beaten as favourites last time out, but both should be high on the shortlist.

My choice would be Barry Geraghty’s mount JUBILYMPICS. She looked very capable in this sphere last year and looks well weighted to run a big race.

13:50 Haydock: MAGIC DANCER

Second choice: Chti Balko

Only two favourites have won this race in the last decade, although all winners over the last seven years came from the first six in the betting.

The three that I really like are Chti Balko, Ch’Tibello and my selection, MAGIC DANCER.

My preference is for Kerry Lee’s runner, who has an incredible nine finishes in either first or second place from just 15 hurdle starts.

At the age of six, and having run in a better race at Ascot last time out, he can go well here.

15:10 Lingfield: MUSIC MAJOR

Second choice: Topology

We finish Saturday’s 4 to Win with divisions one and two of a very competitive Betway Handicap on the All-Weather at Lingfield, part of our ongoing sponsorship of the All-Weather Championships.

The draw is all-important in 1m2f races at the Surrey track, as horses drawn high are usually caught wide on a quickly-emerging left turn as they leave the stalls.

Interestingly horses drawn very low also seem to have trouble as the field concertina towards the rail and leave very little space.

I’m looking for a middle to low draw and course-and-distance winner MUSIC MAJOR fits the bill.

Michael Attwater’s five-year-old has two wins in similar races and conditions look ideal for another victory.

15:40 Lingfield: HAWRIDGE GLORY

Second choice: Baasha

Division two will require the same draw-based strategy, and one that I like in that position is HAWRIDGE GLORY for Amanda Perrett.

This four-year-old is having his first run at the track and could definitely outrun his price.
