13:50 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: ROCK THE KASBAH

Second choice: Pure Vision

All eyes will be on former Gold Cup winner Coneygree, but it will take a very brave punter to trust Mark Bradstock’s 11-year-old who last won just over three years ago.

There’s only been one winning favourite of this race in the last decade.

ROCK THE KASBAH freshened up at Chepstow last time out when a well-beaten favourite. Let’s not lose faith just yet though and he has the right credentials to go well in this valuable race.

14:25 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: ROMAIN DE SENAM

Second choice: Guitar Pete

This is another big Saturday race at Cheltenham which has a shocking record for favourite backers, the last market-leader to win this race was Tranquil Sea in 2009.

Last season’s winner Splash Of Ginge is probably too old to retain this big prize.

Paul Nicholls has won this race twice in the last six seasons, his ROMAIN DE SENAM is slowly coming into form and is good value to get his head in front after being a beaten favourite last time.

15:15 LINGFIELD

TOP PICK: ENCRYPTED

Second choice: Corinthia Knight

We have a fantastic Betway Listed race here, which armchair punters will be able to see on ITV.

Last season’s winner Gifted Master will be very popular for a repeat, but doesn’t scream a value price at 3/1.

Gracious John is probably better over a furlong shorter. It might be worth taking a chance on Hugo Palmer’s ENCRYPTED in a tough looking race.

15:30 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: LE MUSEE

Second choice: Mahlervous

We go back to Prestbury Park for the all-important final race to land the prize.

This Handicap Hurdle has a double-figure field and just two winning favourites in the last ten seasons. Five horses have won this at 12/1 or bigger in that period.

Five and six-year-olds dominate over that time – accounting for all of the winners. LE MUSEE strikes me as the likeliest for the Nigel Hawke stable, having been a winner at Taunton back in March.
