I really like FOLLOW THE BEAR from the Cheltenham-specialist Nicky Henderson stable. He ticks plenty of boxes.

14:50 PUNCHESTOWN

TOP PICK: LOS ALAMOS

Second choice: Arctic Light 

Young trainer Joseph O’Brien has been in great form the last few weeks, with a strike-rate above 20 per cent.

His topweight LOS ALAMOS was a winner last time out and still looks ahead of the handicapper in this valuable hurdle race.

15:00 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: LE PATRIOTE

Second choice: Midnight Shadow 

This is usually a thrilling race to watch and these hurdlers will go a blistering pace around Prestbury Park before slogging up the famous hill.

LE PATRIOTE for the in-form stable of Dr. Richard Newland strikes me as a likely winner with Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle. 

16:00 CHELTENHAM

TOP PICK: THYME HILL

Second choice: McFabulous

This is usually a bumper with plenty of pointers towards future National Hunt stars.

The Phillip Hobbs stable do extremely well in this sphere and could have a likely sort in THYME HILL, who will be ridden by the champ’ Richard Johnson.
