14:05 SOUTHWELL

TOP PICK: ROBERO

Second choice: The Groove

It could take you a little under two hours to scoop our £10,000 prize on Friday afternoon, and we start with a 7f handicap on the All-Weather at Southwell.

Two I like are The Groove and ROBERO.

The former hasn’t raced on this surface at Southwell, but has been consistent of late and could exploit a workable handicap mark.

My preference is for the latter, though. A second place at Chelmsford last time out hinted at a return to form.

14:25 NEWBURY

TOP PICK: TOUCH KICK

Second choice: Three Musketeers

This is a nice little handicap chase which will be shown live on ITV4.

Willoughby Court is a worthy favourite, although it’s worth taking on Ben Pauling’s seven-year-old, given this race hasn’t been won by the market leader in over 10 years.

Paul Nicholls' TOUCH KICK has a fantastic chance of following up his win at Hereford last time out. He also won a Class 3 chase at Sandown around this time last year.

Three Musketeers is from last year’s winning connections and also deserves plenty of respect at this price.

15:15 SOUTHWELL

TOP PICK: BOOTS AND SPURS

Second choice: Tagur

Back to the sand at Southwell where we have to solve a tricky mile handicap.

BOOTS AND SPURS has a great chance of going one better than his runner-up position on Tuesday at the same venue.

He now has the assistance of Theodore Ladd from the saddle, rather than Tuesday’s jockey, who was only having his fourth ride under rules.

Ladd has an impressive five wins from 35 rides at the track.

15:35 NEWBURY

TOP PICK: ROCKPOINT

Second choice: Captain Peacock

We finish up back in Berkshire for a competitive staying handicap hurdle.

This is a race that has only been won by the favourite once in the last six years, with an average winning SP during that time of 12/1.

Horses aged five and six have a fantastic record over the last decade, accounting for 90 per cent of victors.

ROCKPOINT is fresh from a seasonal reappearance at Cheltenham last time out. He should give a much better representation of his ability in this race and could shock at a big price.
