14.00 ASCOT

TOP PICK: TASLEET

Second choice: Harry Angel

Last year’s winner Librisa Breeze aims to be the first horse to retain the Champions Sprint Stakes.

He lines up with 2016 winner The Tin Man, who is significantly shorter in the market. Both look opposable on balance.

TASLEET and Harry Angel look to have good chances from either side of the draw.

TASLEET was a close second in the race last year. He has the excuse of desperately heavy ground from a recent defeat at Haydock, but does perform well on the soft going being forecast.

14:40 ASCOT

TOP PICK: KITESURF

Second choice: Pilaster

Favourite Lah Ti Dar lost her unbeaten record last time out in the St Leger, but now comes back down in distance.

French raider KITESURF is seeking a hat-trick after two recent wins in her homeland.

She’s won at Group 1 level and is a very worthy alternative.

15:15 ASCOT

TOP PICK: RECOLETOS

Second choice: Roaring Lion

Favourites have a fair record in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes with 50 per cent of winners in the last decade at the head of the market.

Likely market-leader Roaring Lion has won his last three starts – all at Group 1 level – after being beaten in the Derby.

Prix du Moulin winner RECOLETOS is a confident selection with conditions in his favour.

He’ll be doing his best work at the end of the race, but that suits this Ascot track. He raced over further at last year’s meeting and that wouldn’t have suited.

16:30 ASCOT

TOP PICK: SHARJA BRIDGE

Second choice: Kynren

The only handicap on the card, and a difficult finale for 4 To Win hopefuls.

Raising Sand was very impressive when winning over 7f at Ascot last time and this extra furlong shouldn’t be a problem, although it’s pretty rare for horses to win back-to-back in these ultra-competitive handicaps.

SHARJA BRIDGE looks relatively unexposed, although he’s been running in big races.

The slightly softer ground looks as though it will suit and he’s worth taking a chance on.
