With £10,000 up for grabs on Saturday, here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips for Haydock and Ascot to get you started.

14:40 HAYDOCK

The Betway Tommy Whittle Chase has seen plenty of great stayers take part in the 3m contest and last year’s winner, DAKLONDIKE , is set to try and win back-to-back renewals.

He was a very convincing winner 12 months ago and, on his seasonal debut this year, finished a very good second over hurdles at Newbury in a competitive handicap.

His next run wasn’t as convincing, failing to get going until too late in the Ladbrokes Trophy, though he did do his best work late on. With his favoured heavy ground conditions underfoot, he should go very well under David Noonan.

Vintage Clouds is also expected to run a huge race, and a reproduction of his second at the Cheltenham Festival will surely see him bang there at the finish.

15:00 ASCOT

JERRYSBACK  has always looked like a horse with huge potential and, in his second season over fences, I think he’ll really kick on, starting with this competitive handicap chase.

He was second at Ascot a year ago, running a great race behind Vinndication, before another good second at Haydock.

He finished his season with a gallant third at the Cheltenham Festival in the four-miler, which was just a little bit too far.

His seasonal return this season left a little to be desired, but the good-to-soft ground was relatively quick for a late November race and, while he won a novice hurdle in similar conditions, his better form has been on deeper ground.

He’ll get that here, and I don’t think his current mark of 143 will be the highest he achieves in his career.

15:15 HAYDOCK

The Betway Heed Your Hunch Handicap Hurdle is run over 2m3f and concludes the card at Haydock.

Captain Moriette looks an interesting runner back over hurdles following three sub-standard attempts over fences, but it’s one at towards the bottom of the handicap that has caught my eye.

OFF THE HOOK was slightly disappointing on her seasonal debut at Ayr in November, but some of her previous lines of form do appeal, and I’m confident she’ll run a cracking race off her low mark of 118.

It’s worth remembering that she finished a good fourth in a Grade 2 Mares’ Hurdle at Newbury last season and was also third in Listed Hurdle at Haydock on this card 12 months ago.

If she runs to that level, I’d be very surprised if she doesn’t go close in this open-looking handicap.

15:35 ASCOT

The final leg in 4 To Win is one of the most competitive races of the weekend, where I’d be surprised if the Greatwood Hurdle fourth, QUOI DE NEUF  , isn’t too far away.

He clearly enjoys soft ground and a fast-run two-mile race, and is almost certain to get both on Saturday.

He has always been highly-touted by his master trainer, Evan Williams, who is enjoying plenty of success of late. At five years old and with only five runs under rules under his belt, I expect him to keep improving.

A little further down, Not So Sleepy  has achieved good speed figures on heavy ground before and, with Hughie Morrison’s yard in flying form and the advantage of a recent course win, he is at the right end of the handicap for a race like this.
