Our expert gives you the best possible chance of winning another massive jackpot on Saturday thanks to our free-to-play prediction game.
4 To Win is Betway's free-to-play prediction game, with £10,000 up for grabs if you can guess the winner of four chosen races on Saturday.
Here are Alan Alger's top tips to get you started...
14.25 YORK
TOP PICK: GOLDEN APOLLO
Second choice: Feathered nest
GOLDEN APOLLO is creeping nicely down the weights and won a 6f handicap over this weekend at York last year.
He was fourth in a course and distance handicap a few weeks ago and should be playing a part at the finish here.
Four-year-olds have won the last three versions of this race and he’s in the right age bracket. Trainer Tim Easterby also has a good record at this meeting.
14.40 CHESTER
TOP PICK: AUSTRIAN SCHOOL
Second choice: Shuhood
AUSTRIAN SCHOOL comes back down in trip having struggled at Doncaster last time out. Prior to that run he was successful over course and distance and that was arguably tougher.
He also met a bit of interference that day and is better than the winning margin of half a length suggests. Berkshire Royal was back in second that day. Along with other market leader Istanbul Sultan he is opposable.
Shuhood is the danger to the selection.
15.15 SANDOWN
TOP PICK: CHIEFOFCHIEFS
Second choice: Salt Whistle Bay
CHIEFOFCHIEFS might have hit the front too early when winning by a diminishing margin over course and distance last time. That’s still some of the best form on offer in this race, though, and he’s taken to follow up.
The ground shouldn’t be a problem as he has performed well in defeat when encountering firm in a going description.
Salt Whistle Bay is consistent and is a big danger.
15.35 YORK
TOP PICK: NEOLA
Second choice: Citron Major
I can’t believe the price of NEOLA for this race. She’s clearly well thought of by trainer Mick Channon and it’s quite possible she now needs quick ground to be seen to the best of her ability. She has won on soft ground in the past, but has underperformed with ‘cut’ of late.
She has a reasonable draw and a feather-weight as she tackles this competitive handicap. If she’s anywhere near her best I expect her to make a mockery of her double-figure quotes.
