Here are Chad Yeomans' best horse racing tips for Thursday to get you started..

Top pick: Sangarius | Second choice: Cap Francais

Sir Michael Stoute has won the Hampton Court Stakes twice in the last 10 years, and has got three more horses placed in the same time.

This year, he relies on SANGARIUS, who has always been highly touted at Freemason Lodge and was towards the top in all the ante-post markets for the 2000 Guineas and The Derby following his impressive debut and follow-up success in a Listed race at Doncaster.

He ran very well on his seasonal reappearance at Sandown Park despite carrying a penalty, jinking right from the stalls, getting nudged by King of Comedy (who was just touched off in the St James's Palace yesterday) and then suffering traffic issues on the rail. Despite that, he still managed to keep moving forward in the style of a horse who still had more to give.

His legendary trainer has a fantastic record of getting his horses to improve with age. They often deliver on the biggest stage and there is no bigger stage than Ascot. With the booking of Frankie Dettori, he's certainly worth backing each-way with Betway paying four places.

Top pick: Fleeting | Second choice: Star Catcher

The Irish have won The Ribblesdale six times in the past 10 years and I expect it to be heading back to the Emerald Isle with the favourite FLEETING, who will take all of the beating.

There was some money for her in the Guineas, which gave the impression that she was expected to run well. However, it was quite the opposite as she finished dead last.

It was interesting that, on the back of that disappointing run, Aidan O'Brien let her take her chance in The Oaks on her next start, which just shows how much he must think of her. She clearly appreciated the step up in trip and her sectional timings in the final three furlongs were very impressive.

She really looked like a horse who had improved for the longer race and, if she reproduces that form, she will be very tough to beat. 

John Gosden won this race two years ago. He has three horses declared but may have to settle for just a place this time around. On jockey bookings, Star Catcher looks the main hope. She is certainly improving but may not be in the same class as the favourite at this stage in her career.

Top pick: Migration | Second choice: Athmad

David Menuisier has his horses in red-hot form, recording a staggering seven winners from his last 12 runners. And, providing MIGRATION, who is currently first reserve, gets in the race, then he has a fantastic chance of bagging himself a Royal Ascot winner to boot.

The three-year-old was a slow learner last season, only managing to finish eighth and fifth in his two starts, but has clearly matured over the winter and is starting to come of age.

He has been an eye-catcher in all three of his starts this term, none more so than when winning on his most recent outing at Newmarket where, despite traffic issues, he still managed to trounce his rivals.

He's only been raised 4lbs for that, so could be very well-handicapped, and is certainly one to keep onside providing he gets in the race. As always in these big-field handicaps, it's worth backing every selection each-way with Betway paying an enhanced five places in the Britannia.

Top pick: Sir Ron Priestley | Second choice: Kuwait Currency

The final race of the day, the King George V Stakes is for three-year-olds over a trip of 1m4f.

It has been won no less than six times by Mark Johnston, most recently last year with Baghdad, who has a very similar profile to my selection this time around.

The Johnston team look to have campaigned SIR RON PRIESTLEY with this race in mind, who should be backed each-way with five places on offer with Betway.

The son of Australia shaped with promise on both of his starts as a two-year-old, but was put away following his second start in September when he finished fourth at Goodwood behind Line of Duty in a maiden that has worked out very well.

On his return to the track this season, he won a Ripon novice by six lengths then followed up with a bloodless victory at Haydock, suggesting his current mark of 94 may be slightly underestimating his ability.

Like plenty of well-fancied Johnston runners, he'll be tough, game and courageous, and I expect him to be ridden very prominently by Andrea Atzeni, who was on board Baghdad when connections won this race last year.

OTHER THURSDAY TIPS

SUNDAY SOVEREIGN was purchased for a very handsome fee after his maiden win at the Curragh in May, where he duly obliged to beat Tuesday's Coventry winner Arizona by three lengths.

He won his third and most recent start by seven lengths on soft ground and will look to take all of the beating to give his very shrewd trainer, Paddy Twomey, his first Royal Ascot winner.
