14:15 LINGFIELD

TOP PICK: WISSAHICKON

Second choice: Goring

This is a Listed Betway sponsored race and a key pointer towards Good Friday’s all-weather championship finals day.

Cambridgeshire winner WISSAHICKON is a very confident selection to get us off the mark in race one with a winner. He doesn’t have any question marks and even if he ran to only 80 per cent of his ability, should take care of the opposition at such favourable terms.

The only bad news is that most punters will no doubt get off on the same foot.

15:00 ASCOT

TOP PICK: MINELLA DADDY

Second choice: Thomas Patrick

It’s much more competitive for race two of the competition and this Handicap Chase is wide open.

Course and distance winner MINELLA DADDY hasn’t been running too well of late, but was well enough fancied last time out to go off favourite over the same course and distance.

That race was back in November and it would be silly to write him off. He possibly needed the run last time after a long break, and is a confident selection to bounce back.

15:25 LINGFIELD

TOP PICK: MUSIC MAJOR

Second choice: Taurean Dancer

The majority of the horses contesting this race have been in opposition before and will no doubt meet each other lots of times during the course of the winter.

That means luck and performance at the weights is key during these races. Expect a close finish with MUSIC MAJOR under the course specialist Luke Morris to run well.

15:35 ASCOT

TOP PICK: LISP

Second choice: Fidux

A huge field will be going flat out over eight obstacles at the Berkshire track in this very tricky Handicap Hurdle over a distance just under two miles.

LISP looks a progressive sort for Alan King and is a tentative choice in a race where not many can be ruled out.
