Here at Betway, we're delighted to be sponsoring our first Irish races at the prestigious Galway meeting.

Two of our three contests feature in Saturday's 4 To Win, where there's a whopping £50,000 up for grabs, along with two races from a fantastic punting card at Goodwood.

14.00 GALWAY

TOP PICK: LIGHTNING AMBER

Second choice: The Corporal

Aidan O’Brien has won this Betway-sponsored race in six of the last 10 seasons, including the last three in a row.

It has mostly been won by horses that have already seen a racetrack, though Landofhopeandglory did win it in 2015 before going on to a career over obstacles.

It’s likely that the runners in this line-up will have careers over longer distances and won’t be from the top bracket of the flat racing sphere.

Dermot Weld won this in 2011 with Hit The Jackpot, and can take the prize again with his twice-raced filly LIGHTNING AMBER.

14.25 GOODWOOD

TOP PICK: SOLDIER IN ACTION

Second choice: Watersmeet

This is a competitive staying handicap with a nice monetary prize behind it.

Only two favourites have won this in the last decade, with the average winning SP during that time just over 10/1.

Mark Johnston has won this in two of the last three seasons, and has five entries from 14 scheduled runners in the race.

And I think I’ve spotted something.

Four of his runners like to go from the front, which could set it up for a late finisher.

His other horse outside of those four is SOLDIER IN ACTION, who won this very same race last year having been produced to lead on the line by Silvestre De Sousa, who takes the ride again.

It can’t be that simple, can it?

14.30 GALWAY

TOP PICK: JASSAAR

Second choice: Astronomer

We have a big field for this Betway-sponsored maiden over an extended mile.

Dermot Weld won this every single year between 2009 and 2014, and always with the favourite for the race.

He enters the untested JASSAAR this year, and his pedigree suggests he will take a lot of beating.

Those that have already seen a racetrack lack any stand-out form, although Astronomer from the Aidan O’Brien stable rates as the main danger with improvement expected.

15.40 GOODWOOD

TOP PICK: AEOLUS

Second choice: Tupi

The Stewards’ Cup is one of the most difficult races for punters each year, but one that everyone loves to try and crack.

It’s a difficult puzzle, alright.

On first glance, it looks as though middle-to-high draws dominate, but then stalls one to four have had three winners in the last decade.

Horses older than seven can definitely be written off on the stats, with no winners at all in that period.

AEOLUS ticks plenty of boxes, was second in this contest last year, and looks set to run another big race from a great draw.

15.40 Goodwood: Aeolus
