TOP PICK: EDELLINE
Second choice: Sacred Path
There’s not much form to go on in this maiden for three-year-old fillies.
Newcomers have a poor record in recent runnings of this race, but those with form in the book do not inspire much confidence in this renewal.
Gather is stepping up in trip again, but this 1m2f trip looks a little out of her range on breeding.
Sacred Path is one of those making her debut. She’s well-bred and from the John Gosden stable who are in cracking form. She looks an obvious choice but will obviously be quite short in the market.
EDELLINE from the Luca Cumani stable is an expensive filly and another with good breeding, and she could be the best alternative.

TOP PICK: DR JULIUS NO
Second choice: Mullarkey
DR JULIUS NO has only beaten two horses home in five races since switching from the Richard Hughes table to Murty McGrath’s.
That makes him a dangerous proposition for this race, yet his form of last summer does put him in a good enough position at his best to win this race off a favourable weight.
Others that could go well are Punkawallah, who racked up a double at the end of last season and Mullarkey, who had a little break after an all-weather campaign where he won just one of seven races over the winter, but, like the selection, could win this if at his best.

TOP PICK: ARTAIR
Second choice: Blown By Wind
The National Stakes is one of the best early season races for juvenile horses - winners of this race usually end up at Royal Ascot.
There’s only been one winning favourite in this race over the last decade, while second- and third-favourites have a fantastic record with a collective eight wins in the last ten years.
The Hannon stable have taken this in two of the last four seasons and Wedding Date will be popular, especially with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
Vintage Brut has a great draw but has to handle very different ground from his debut win. Michael Bell’s ARTAIR is another that has only run on softer going, but if he handles this good-to-firm surface really has the scope to win this at a nice price.

TOP PICK: MOUNT MORIAH
Second choice: Weekender
The Henry II Stakes is a stayers’ race that has seen some great horses do battle down the years.
Past winners include plenty of that went on to taste success at the Royal Ascot meeting a few weeks later, including last year’s victor Big Orange.
There have been four winning favourites in the last six years, and Weekender looks set to go off as market leader this time.
That's justified based on his win stepping up to 1m6f last time, and, while this two-mile trip looks tough on breeding, he certainly has class.
Sheikhzayedroad hasn’t got his head in front in a race for nearly two years, so can’t be recommended.
I’ll plump for MOUNT MORIAH who might just be able to last out the trip a bit better than when beaten at Ascot at the back end of last season.
