Our expert is on hand to help you win a rollover jackpot of £20,000 in our free-to-play prediction game by choosing the winners of four different races.
4 To Win is Betway's free-to-play prediction game running throughout Glorious Goodwood.
Simply guess the winner from four chosen races for your chance to win a rollover jackpot of £20,000, with another £10,000 added every day the prize goes unclaimed.
Here are Alan Alger's top tips to get you started...
14.25 GOODWOOD
TOP PICK: PROSCEHMA
Second choice: Bartholomeu Dias
The market seems to have written off PROSCEHMA based on his poor run when stepped up to an extended 1m 6f trip last time out.
There’s also some suspicion that softer ground would be more suitable.
All that said, I think he is a value bet based on his two wins earlier in the season and his sixth in the Chester Vase, when he faded towards the end due to interference just as the race got going.
Trainer Tom Dascombe is in good form, too.
15.00 GOODWOOD
TOP PICK: SOLDIER'S CALL
Second choice: Rumble Inthejungle
Here we have a juvenile sprint in the Group 3 bracket that hasn't seen a winning favourite in the last seven seasons.
Rumble Inthejungle’s sire won this race in 2012 and that’s a decent pointer.
I just about prefer the likely favourite SOLDIER’S CALL, though.
Trainer Archie Watson is having a great year and can continue that here.
The stable have a 31 per cent win rate in two-year-old races since April.
15.35 GOODWOOD
TOP PICK:LIGHTNING SPEAR
Second choice: Without Parole
Eight favourites have won the Sussex Stakes in the last decade, including the mighty Frankel twice, with his 2012 win coming at odds of 1/20.
Here Comes When won at the direct opposite of that price last season when shocking everyone at 20/1.
LIGHTNING SPEAR was only beaten a short-head in the Lockinge earlier in the season, his best ever run in a Group 1 race. He was also only beaten by a length in this last year.
This looks a weak race for the top bracket and he may be able to win at a nice price.
19.20 GALWAY
TOP PICK: SLOWMOTION
Second choice: Drumcliff
For race four, we head to the wonderful meeting at Galway for their prestigious Galway Plate, which is an extremely competitive chase over a distance just shy of three miles.
Two JP McManus horses take the eye here, both of which have profiles that fit the bill of previous winners of this race.
Slight preference is for SLOWMOTION with the assistance of Barry Geraghty.
