One lucky customer landed a £10,000 windfall over the Bank Holiday weekend thanks to 4 To Win, Betway’s free-to-play prediction game.

Kevan Wignall scooped the prize after correctly predicting the winning horses in Saturday’s four chosen races.

The 63-year-old supermarket worker from Leicestershire was the only person to do so, but went into the final race with four other players in the hunt for the jackpot.

Fortunately for Kevan, he was the only one to have selected Saxon Warrior in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.

4 TO WIN: 05/05/18 RESULTS

14.05 Goodwood – Isabel De Urbina (9/2, picked by 7%)

14.40 Goodwood – Taurean Star (12/1, picked by 5%)

14.55 Newmarket – Defoe (1/2, picked by 75%)

15.35 Newmarket – Saxon Warrior (3/1, picked by 26%)

Tiebreaker – Eight lengths

“I have never won anything like this in my life,” said Kevan, who admitted he had relied on luck rather than judgement when making his selections.

“I picked the horses totally at random.”

It was a tactic that proved to be inspired, choosing the unpopular Isabel De Urbina and Taurean Star – which were picked by just seven and five per cent of players respectively – in the first two races.

“I wouldn’t say I’m the biggest racing fan, but I love my sports betting,” he said.

“The biggest return I’ve had was £500 from a football bet.”

But, despite the unprecedented nature of his win, Kevan has already decided how he’s going to spend the winnings.

“I’m going to book a nice holiday.”
