"I’m away in Manchester this week to watch Metallica at the City of Manchester Stadium with some friends, so we spent the day enjoying ourselves with a few bets on the racing," Martin said.

"I’m a big racing fan and we found somewhere to watch each race. I knew I had got very close to winning as I saw the results coming in, I just didn’t know how many people I might be sharing it with or if the tie-break was needed.

"I’m a big racing fan but I’d have to say the picks were made with not too much thought on form. I’m a regular racegoer at places like Aintree and Haydock.

"I haven’t clearly thought about what to do with the money yet, although a holiday and doing up my house will probably be on the list."
