Betway will sponsor a 10-race card at Newcastle on Monday 1 June as British horse racing comes out of lockdown, including the opening one-mile contest: ‘Betway Welcome Back British Racing Handicap’.

We have highlighted our commitment to UK racing with sponsorship deals covering 13 of the first 18 meetings that will see a resumption of the ‘sport of Kings’. 

Racing fans will be spoilt for choice with familiar names and contests returning to their TV screens. Betway are leading the way on ITV Sport with the Group 3 ‘Betway Abernant Stakes’ and Listed ‘Betway Paradise Stakes’ on Friday 5 June.

Chad Yeomans, Betway's PR manager, said: “We are delighted to showcase our support for British racing with sponsorship of a large portion of the opening fixtures. The return of the racing will be a great tonic for fans starved of live sport taking place on these shores.”

With Royal Ascot around the corner, the firm’s sponsored card at Newmarket on Thursday 4 June features four races for juvenile newcomers and could see big yards aiming some of their brightest prospects at those prizes.

Opening cards will also feature Betway’s first sponsorship at the Great Yarmouth racecourse.
