Kameko

Kameko was a brilliant winner of the 2000 Guineas in a record-breaking time.

He could have been called the winner as they came out of the dip. I knew he’d pick up and stay on through the line.

He wasn’t stopping as they passed the line, so going up in trip shouldn’t be a problem. Of all we’ve seen this season, he’d be the obvious choice in The Derby.

Love

I was so impressed with Love and the way she won the 1000 Guineas.

It never looked in doubt and her rider Ryan Moore spoke very highly of her afterwards. He made it clear that he never felt that she was in danger in the first fillies’ classic of the season and, as she’d bred to be better up in trip, she’s going to be very tough to beat in the Oaks.

Ghaiyyath

It was a monster performance on the clock by Ghaiyyath in the Coronation Cup on Friday, but I’m still very way of this horse.

He doesn’t seem to be overly reliable and I’d need to see him do it again before I could nail my colours to his mast. If he goes to the Eclipse next, I’d have to side with Enable over him.

Two-year-olds

We’ve seen some very impressive two-year-olds during the first week of racing and I’m sure plenty of them will go on to further success.

Of the beaten horses, I’d keep an eye on Tactical, who was third on his debut but will come on for that run.

I’d also be keen to follow Dark Lion, who was very well backed for the Roger Varian yard. He flew home when the penny started to drop to finish fourth behind Creative Force.

Honourable mention

The honourable mention has to go to Betway Ambassador Andrew Balding, whose horses have started the season in red-hot form.

It’s a great boost for all of the team at Park House Stables to get so many winners on the board so soon and long may it continue.
