12.45 – Novices’ Hurdle (Kempton)

There’s plenty of value in this field, so the one I’m going for is Emma Lavelle’s IRISH PROPHECY  .

The four-year-old has made a very impressive start with three wins from four and a second last time out to Kalashnikov.

He’s a course-and-distance winner here after triumphing comfortably in a flat race back in February and looks a very tasty price.

1.20 – Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (Kempton)

Next up, I like the chances of Nicky Henderson’s REIGNING SUPREME  .

He’s won two from a possible three with both victories coming at Newbury, but was disappointing at Leicester where he didn’t settle on the heavy ground.

All of his trips have been over 2m 4f so he is proven to stay the distance and, with reliable Nico de Boinville on board, he looks a good bet.

1.55 – Kauto Star Novices’ Chase (Kempton)

The first Grade 1 of the afternoon is a race filled with class, but the one I’m backing is Paul Nicholls’ BLACK CORTON  .

The six-year-old has been nothing short of spectacular for his yard, notching 10 wins, three seconds and two thirds from 16 trips.

He comes into this race in fantastic form (1211-1112), with Bryony Frost in the saddle for five of those wins.

A winner here last year and proven to stay the 3m, he represents some very decent value.

3.05 – King George VI Chase (Kempton)

In the biggest race of the day, I’m going to keep the faith with THISTLECRACK  , who won by over three lengths last year.

He was a phenomenal jumper last year and had a great season before getting injured in dramatic finish against the late Many Clouds in the Cotswold Chase.

His warm-up run over hurdles was very disappointing and is the reason for his big price, but I’m confident Tommy Scudamore can produce another big performance on board.

3.40 – Handicap Hurdle (Kempton)

Final tip, and I think KILDISART  is the one to beat in the last race of the day.

After two seconds in his first two races in Ireland and Scotland respectively, he finally got off the mark last month after winning by two lengths at Ascot.

He’s proven he's a steady traveller over 2m 4f so the extra furlong shouldn’t be an issue, while Daryl Jacob was also the man on board for that maiden victory last month.
