13:55 KEMPTON

We’ll start with some Grade 1 action in the Kauto Star Chase, where I’m a big fan of MASTER TOMMYTUCKER 11/4.

He has three wins from four – with the only defeat coming with an unfortunate fall at Chepstow – and made a huge comeback last month when he won on this course in a Beginners’ Chase.

The eight-year-old beat a strong field that day including Who Dares Wins, Thomas Darby and The Big Bite.

A strong jumper and with course form, I think he has a great chance.

14:20 LEOPARDSTOWN

More Grade 1 action in Ireland now for the Racing Post Novice Chase, where I’m struggling to see anything but a LAURINA 11.10 win.

This mare and has made a terrific start to her career over fences, beating Minella Indo by eight lengths at Gowran Park towards the end of November.

She’s proven over this distance and, although she may want further, I still think she’ll take all the beating.

14:30 KEMPTON

Nicky Henderson has a great chance of winning a third Christmas Hurdle in a row with three entered in the race, and the one I fancy is EPATANTE 9/2.

She’s won three from a possible four, including here on debut, with her only defeat coming in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Festival.

I was very impressed with her seasonal reappearance at Newbury where she stayed on strongly to win by six lengths and, having proven herself over 2m, she could put herself in the frame for the Champion Hurdle.

14:45 WETHERBY

Moving across to Wetherby now, where I’m expecting Harry Whittington’s YOUNG BULL 5/2 to continue his good run of form.

He got back to winning ways with a nice victory at Ffos Las in November, before following that up with a course-and-distance win earlier this month when carrying top weight of 11-4.

Former Grand National-winning jockey Leighton Aspell takes the ride for the first time, and his experience only strengthens their chances.

We have an industry-leading offer for the King George, with money back as a free bet if your horse loses.

But, despite that extra insurance, the one I’d go for is still LOSTINTRANSLATION 15/8.

He was twice a runner-up to Defi Du Seuil last season and finished that campaign with a really nice win in the Betway Mildmay Chase at Aintree.

His performances – particularly his jumping – since then have been excellent, particularly when managing to dethrone Bristol De Mai at his fortress in the Betfair Chase last time out.

The key is to not let Cyrname dictate the pace of the race, otherwise he’ll be difficult to catch, but I’m still buoyant on the chances of Colin Tizzard’s star.
