I don’t have a ride in the opening JLT Novices’ Chase, but for me Invitation Only has the form that stacks up against the right ones in Ireland like Monalee and Al Boum Photo.

He comes here in the best form and looks the one to beat. Of all the novice chases at the meeting, this race is the one that has cut up the most.

Terrefort is the best of the English, but all of his form is right-handed so we’ll have to see if he can put it together going the other way.

Some horses have a natural way they lean or jump, slightly to the left or right.

If you’re on a horse that doesn’t like going left-handed, you can have big problems at Cheltenham as you’re constantly on the turn. It can stop a horse getting into its natural rhythm.

Louis’ Vac Pouch  seems in very good form at home, and this race should suit him.

The main thing is we need to try to keep a lid on him. He’s a horse that’s full of life so he can be a bit keen in his races.

I hope the occasion doesn’t get to him. I’ll be trying my hardest to get him switched off to save his energy.

He’s had the perfect preparation. He won at Aintree back in November and is in really strong form.

The Pertemps has always been the target. He’s definitely my best chance of a winner on Thursday.

It’s a very competitive handicap and lots of horses will have been laid out for it.

The ground has probably gone against Wait For Me , who is a talented a horse but would prefer a sounder surface.

Un De Sceaux  will love the soft ground in the Ryanair Chase and he will be very hard to beat.

If Cue Card  is in the same form he was at Ascot behind, then he could run a big race.

He’s won the Ryanair before and you’ll know he’ll be staying on strongly up the hill on the ground.

If Sam Spinner  was trained by one of the top trainers, he’d be a much shorter price than he is.

The form of his Long Walk Hurdle win is very good and he won’t have any problem with the conditions. If I could pick one to ride, it would be him.

Don’t get me wrong, though, it’s a wide open race with the likes of Yanworth , Supasundae and The New One  in there.

Unowhatimeanharry  went off odds-on last year, so you’d have to say that he is a big price. He’s a horse that’s guaranteed to stay and it seems just wasn’t quite right at the start of the season.

If he’s back to his old self, he must have a very strong each-way chance. It will be a truly run race and a real stamina test.

It’s nice to be back on Village Vic  in the Plate, but we’re taking it on trust a bit with him.

If he can return to the form he was in at the start of last season, then he’ll run a big race.

The ground won’t be a problem at all and he absolutely loves Cheltenham, but we have to accept that his two runs so far this season have been well below par.

He seems in great form and I’m not worried about the weight as he’s carried big weights round here before. I’m more bothered about whether he can show his old sparkle.

I ride Spice Girl  in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle for Martin Keighley.

She’s been very consistent and has done really well, but this is another step back up in grade.

She’s very tough and likes winning, which is always good. I’m sure she’ll put her best foot forward and might just run into a place.

The vibes about Laurina  are very strong, and suggest that she is Ireland’s next superstar mare.

Willie Mullins won the mares' race on Tuesday and this one is obviously going to be hard to beat, but she’s a very short price.

The final race of the day is for amateur jockeys, so it’s not a race I’ve looked into massively.

Mall Dini  looks interesting, though. He ran well in the race last year and looks like he’s well-handicapped.

Patrick Mullins takes the ride and he won the four-miler on Tuesday.
