13:20 – CHANTRY HOUSE (each-way)

The idea in this race is to try and find a horse to finish in the placings because if Envoi Allen stands up, there really isn’t anything in the field that could beat him. He is a very short price and likely to get shorter on the day.

With that in mind, Chantry House represents good each-way value. He is a smart horse who was third in the Supreme last season. He’s two from three this season and, with a clear round of jumping, should be staying on well towards the end of the race.

His stable-mate Fusil Raffles   will also love the quicker ground and shouldn’t be overlooked as he was a Grade 1 winner as a juvenile.

13:55 – COME ON TEDDY (each-way)

I’ve long been a fan of Come On Teddy, who has been trained with this race in mind. He was a very good winner at Cheltenham in November and was well-backed that day, too.

He finished third at Warwick in a qualifier last time out, but he wasn’t suited by the pace of the race. He’s a strong-travelling horse who’ll be ridden held up and will be doing his best work as the race goes on.

14:30 – FAKIR D'OUDARIES (each-way)

Willie Mullins looks to have the strongest hand in this race and he’s likely to have the first three in the market, too.

But I think the Joseph O’Brien-trained Fakir D’oudairies has great claims, especially as he loves Cheltenham. He’s a fantastic jumper and is still only six, so there is plenty of improvement in him.

He was second to Chacun Pour Soi at Leopardstown last time over 2m and this step up in trip should suit him well. This race looks tailor-made for him and he should go well under Mark Walsh. At a huge price, Tornado Flyer  has some top, top form in the book and shouldn’t be overlooked.

15:05 – FURY ROAD (each-way) 

There was a lot to like about Fury Road as a novice last season. He was only beaten a neck in the Albert Bartlett by Monkfish and, although he’s been beaten on his last two starts this season, there have been valid reasons for those defeats.

He is a strong travelling horse who won’t mind this quicker ground – he won on it during his bumper days. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of this horse yet and a patient ride could bring out the best in him. He’s got great each-way claims.

15:40 – FARCLAS (each-way)

Farclas won the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle, which reminds me of just how good he actually is. He’s a top horse.

Since going over fences, he’s been a revelation this season and has contested some of Ireland’s best handicaps, faring well on each start. The track, trip and ground will all suit him and he should go very close under Jack Kennedy.

16:15 – GLENS OF ANTRIM (each-way)

Willie Mullins has farmed this race, winning every single renewal since its inception in 2016.

While he doesn't have a horse as talented as some of his previous winners, I like claims of Glens Of Antrim who has steadily improved with each start this season having run beind some smart horses.

She’s clearly had this as her target all season and they’ve worked backwards from it. She’ll arrive in great form and has the assistance of Jonjo O’Neill Jr, who is one of the most exciting young riders in the weighing room.

Mighty Blue  has also run well without winning and any market support for her would be telling. She could improve to finish in the placings.

16:50 – MILANFORD (each way)

DIDERO VALLIS (each-way)

This is a real test of stamina and I think that’ll really suit the lightly-raced Milanford, who has finished second on all three starts this season.

He’s run in good company and his second in a Grade 2 at Doncaster reads very well. He looks well handicapped off a mark of 138 and they’ve booked Daryl Jacob for the ride, too.

At a similarly big price, Didero Vallis came back to form at Catterick last time out. He went very well in the Plate a couple of years ago and has been highly tried since.

He is still only eight but, with his trainer Venetia Williams in flying form, he could go very well after getting his head in front last time.
