1.20 – Handicap Chase (Cheltenham)

Starting in the Junior Jumpers Chase and I’m going for Kerry Lee’s GINO TRAIL  .

The 10-year-old has a pretty decent record with five wins and four seconds from 14 runs, with some of his more noteworthy efforts a runners-up spot in the Betway Kingmaker in April and to Buveur D’air last New Year's Eve.

He won comfortably last time out at Wetherby at top weight over 1m 7f, so it will be interesting how he handles the jump to two miles.

This is his first time around Cheltenham's fences so that will a challenge but, with in-form Harry Skelton taking the ride for the first time, I’m confident he can get the job done.

1.55 – Caspian Caviar Gold Cup (Cheltenham)

Next is the big one of the day, the Grade 3 Gold Cup, and the one I’m really drawn to is Evan Williams’ KING’S ODYSSEY .

He’s a course-and-distance winner after winning on heavy ground in the Novices’ Handicap Chase back in January.

A slightly disappointing display here in the Brown Plate is a potential worry, but he is really well-handicapped at 10-11 in comparison to the favourite Clan Des Obeaux  who carries 11-12.

The reliable Adam Wedge won on board this time last year, and he looks a nice each-way price.

3.05 – International Hurdle (Cheltenham)

Next we have the Grade 2 Interational Hurdle where Willie Mullins’ Melon  is a favourite for many.

But I think there’s good value with MY TENT OR YOURS  .

He's finished second in the Champion Hurdle three times (2014, 2016, 2017) - finishing a good six lengths ahead of The New One in one of them - and also had a notable performance in the Betway Aintree hurdle where he was runner-up to Buveur D'air.

Despite a lengthy winless run stretching back to February 2014, I’m backing him to finally end that string of close finishes and get to the line first on Saturday.

3.40 – Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Cheltenham)

For the final tip of the day, I’m going for BRILLARE MOMENTO  .

The six-year-old is a course-and-distance winner, winning here last month in the Novices’ Hurdle and another time before that in April.

She holds a decent record with three wins and two seconds from eight runs, with four of those trips coming on this course.

Beaten by a neck as a 20/1 shot here last year, and with Aidan Coleman’s really impressive record on board (211-21), I think he’s a very good bet at a nice price.
