EEH BAH GUM   has fast become a very frustrating horse to follow, but on a going day he is more than capable of winning a race of this calibre.

He is never beaten far and always gives his best, which is why the handicapper hasn’t relented for a while. But, following his two below-par runs this season, he has been dropped 6lb to a mark of 81, which is 2lb lower than his last winning mark.

He does prefer good ground or quicker, so do be mindful of how much rain has fallen. If the rain does fall, top weight Celsius  should handle the slower conditions better than most.

Most big-field 7f handicaps are a real cavalry charge and this one should be no different.

This doesn’t look like the deepest race for the class and Roger Fell’s PRESIDENTIAL  should have enough to take home the prize.

He was a good winner on his seasonal comeback at Doncaster, beating Muntadab, who was a recent winner at Epsom.

He then backed up that success with a good run in the Silver Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot and, despite being drawn in the middle of the course, he ran well and was only beaten just over four lengths. He should have too much for this field.

At a bigger price, Fox Leicester  could run into a place for Betway ambassador Andrew Balding on his first start of the season.

He’s got good form in the book from last season and is having his first run following wind surgery, which could bring out further improvement from the four-year-old.

The 1m6f handicap is going to be a real stamina test and has obviously been targeted by the Mark Johnston yard, who are sending out four runners.

THEMAXWECAN  ran very well at Royal Ascot despite not having the best of passages as they turned for home.

Despite this race being hot, it’s not as deep as the Ascot race so he could go very close under Ryan Moore.

Paul Nicholls’ horses have been in great form since the resumption of National Hunt racing recently and he may just have a well-handicapped horse in Christopher Wood  , who is ridden by his daughter Meghan Nicholls.

He won nicely on his prep run last month and may have just slipped the net.

The Hughie Morrison-trained KIPPS   has been expensive to follow this season with two narrow misses, but I’m confident he’ll make it third time lucky in this 1m2f handicap.

He ran very well at Royal Ascot on his latest start but had to make up plenty of ground around the outside and this drop back in trip should be an inconvenience.

He has the blinkers on for the first time, should be ridden more prominently under Ryan Moore and will be very tough to pass.

At the start of the season he was touted as a possible Derby horse, so his connections will be looking to take advantage of his current handicap mark of 88.
