13.50 NEWMARKET

There is a very open field in this Betway handicap but I think SUMMERGHAND   looks a nice each-way price.

He had some very notable performances last year, including a runner-up behind Dakota Gold in the Great St Wilfred handicap at Ripon and a decent run in fourth in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood.

He’s got a solid record at Newmarket (221), including a victory over course and distance, so I think he’s a good bet for reliable pair David O’Meara and Danny Tudhope.  

14:05 LINGFIELD

We've got some all-weather action next, and I think Simon Crisford’s CORVAIR   is the one to beat in this one.

The colt has a solid record so far (221-11), which includes two convincing wins on course, the last coming at the start of March.

Champion jockey Oisin Murphy takes the ride and that only strengthens his chances.

15:00 NEWMARKET

The Betway Paradise Stakes is up next and I’m going for another each-way chance in ESCOBAR .

He really kicked on towards the end of last season and capped it off with a very impressive win in the Balmoral Handicap, powering home past Lord North on Champions Day. 

I think he’s perfect for the 1m trip and I'm hoping this could be another big win for the O’Meara and Tudhope combination. 

15:35 NEWMARKET

We finish off with the Group 1 Coronation Stakes, where my long-lasting loyalty to Stradivarius may be at an end. I’m struggling to see past GHAIYYATH   here.

He returned to winning ways emphatically at Meydan in February and does have two victories on this course, albeit in 2017.

Appleby’s yard have got off to a flying start this week and should only get better this weekend.
