12:10 CHELTENHAM

A very open field to kick things off and, while many are expecting big things from favourite Angels Breath, I’m going to take a chance on I K BRUNEL  .

He won nicely on debut in a bumper at Carlisle last month over this distance in the famous McNeill colours.

Connections could have a big day and, at this price, I think he looks decent value.

12:45 CHELTENHAM

This is a decent four-runner chase, but I’m staying with LIL ROCKERFELLER  to remain unbeaten over fences.

He's three from three so far, which includes a victory here late October where a tidy round of jumping saw him cruise home by four lengths.

He has plenty of course form, as well, including a runner-up to Nichols Canyon in the 2017 Stayers’ Hurdle which bodes nicely in his favour.

13:20 CHELTENHAM

In the first of many open handicaps on Friday, I’m going for the Twiston-Davies team to get the job done with AL DANCER  .

The five-year-old has three wins from a possible six for far, including a bumper at Bangor last March and over this distance at Carlisle in October.

Sam Twiston-Davies has a perfect record on board and hit some nice form recently with a 155/1 double at Taunton on Thursday and I think he has a good chance of completing the hat-trick.

13:55 CHELTENHAM

Now it’s the turn of the mares and, considering I own shares in SILENT STEPS  , I have to back her here.

She didn’t settle in her opening two runs at Uttoxeter and Lingfield but responded emphatically last time out with a 23-length victory at Southwell.

The blinkers clearly helped and she got a much better reaction from Bryony Frost, who got her out in front and never looked back.

She’s really well handicapped at 11-0 and has a stone on Gordon Elliot’s Synopsis, so I hope to be cheering her home up the Cheltenham hill.

14:30 CHELTENHAM

ROCK THE KASBAH  was a very impressive winner here in the November meeting, and I think he could follow that up again here.

He beat a lot of good horses in that Grade 3, including Coneygree, Singlefarmpayment and Cogry.

The eight-year-old’s form since last season has been some of his best, with two big wins at Chepstow and a respectable runner-up in the Gold Cup Chase at Sandown in April.

He will have to defy top weight of 11-2 but, if Richard Johnson can get him at the front early, he will take some catching.

15:05 CHELTENHAM

A Cross Country Chase now where I'm going to take on Josies Orders with AMAZING COMEDY  .

The French raider has experience in this race after finishing fifth at the Festival back in 2017 as a 50/1 shot.

A very impressive 18-length victory in a Cross Country at Compiegne last month on heavy ground puts him a nice position here and he is really well-handicapped at 10-3.

Jockey Felix de Giles finished second on French-bred Urgent De Gregaine in the Glenfarclas behind Tiger Roll, so that should also help his chances.

15:40 CHELTENHAM

I've got two fancies in the final race of the day.

The first is AARON LAD , who is looking for back-to-back wins after a tidy victory at Market Rasen last month, the same course where he won in March.

Three wins and four seconds from 13 runs is solid form and he did put in a decent round of jumping here in the Pertemps Handicap Hurdle in October.

Charlie Hammond brings his 5 lb claim in the saddle and he should go close.

The other one I like is THE EAGLEHASLANDED  .

He’s a course-and-distance winner in a handicap here in 2016 and has run here three times in his last four outings.

Proven over the 2m 7f and with Alex Thorne taking off 7 lb from his claim, he looks a good each-way chance.
