Friday racing tips: Best bets for the York Ebor Festival
Our tipster reveals his two best bets for the third day of racing at the York Ebor Festival on Friday.

Threat
After seeing Mums Tipple obliterate a field at York yesterday , my view on Threat has been
affirmed knowing how highly his team rate this colt.
He won well on his debut at Newmarket in a four-runner maiden, winning in the style and time of a good horse. He then finished second in the Coventry at Royal Ascot when coming from way off the pace and just getting pipped by Arizona.
His connections opted to miss the July Festival in favour of a crack at the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and he came up against Golden Horde, who used his position next to the rail to hold off Threat.
I don’t think this race is as competitive as those he’s run in previously, and if’s he’s to live up to his trainers expectations, he should take it.

Pogo
Readers of this blog may remember that I put up Pogo the last time he ran at Goodwood and if you’d backed him, you’ll remember the troubled passages he faced that day.
He was backed from 25/1 into single figures odds on the morning of the race.
He didn’t get the best of luck in running, which is always a gamble when backing horses who need to be held up and come past others
This race looks less competitive than the race at Goodwood and he should be backed each-way.
On a fair track like York, he shouldn’t get the same amount of traffic as he’s recently had.
