Schmilsson   was a little underwhelming at Newmarket, but he did get shuffled back further than ideal in a race in which it paid to be handy. I’m happy to put a line through that effort. He’s got some course form and off his current mark he should be competitive, but he’ll need plenty of luck (13:50 Goodwood).

Chateau   has done little wrong this season. He won very well last time at Newbury, and ran very well to finish fourth in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot prior to that. We’re taking on the third from the Coventry Stakes, so it won’t be easy, but if he handles the track, he should go very well (14:25 Goodwood).

Masekela   was very disappointing at Newmarket, but with no real reason behind it. He’s a whole heap better than that. His work at home has been to a very good level and, if he puts that run behind him, he should go well (15:00 Goodwood).

Winnaretta   is a nice filly who ran well on her debut. She’s just one who might appreciate a bit more ease in the ground. She’s done well since Kempton and is a similar type of horse to the one we won this race with last year. This race is always tough to win, though (17:20 Goodwood).

Scampi   has run well all year. He was caught in a muddling race last time. Back to 1m4f with the hood on, he should be competitive (18:30 Epsom).

Zu Run   makes his debut for us (18:45 Salisbury). He’s a half-brother to Nymphadora, who has done well for us. He’s a fine big horse, who I expect will come on plenty for the experience.

Sydney Mews   ran well on debut. We’re taking the hood off this time which might help her (19:00 Epsom). She shaped with promise and is a player for places. Will Carver rides her a lot at home and rides her again.

Vermilion   is a fine good-looking filly. She’s shown me enough at home to think she could run well in a maiden (19:15 Salisbury).

Fivethousandtoone   has been a big disappointment this year. A small field might help him, and I’m convinced that he can win a race of this nature, he’s just yet to really show it on the track this term. It’s a retrieval mission more than anything (19:45 Salisbury).

Star Caliber   needed the run at Chester last time, but I thought I’d done enough with him, so it was a tad disappointing. Now he’s got that under his belt, he should give a better running (20:15 Salisbury).
