Goodwood runners

Recovery Run  ran well at Ascot last time and has come down a couple of pounds in the handicap, although he’s still got to concede weight to most of them. His homework has improved of late and, on his best form, he could have a sporting chance in the opener (13:50).

Bounce The Blues   loves juice in the ground and you’d have to say that these are her ideal conditions. She’s a smart horse who could be bang there in the Oak Tree Stakes (14:25).

Nymphadora  missed Saturday’s assignment at Ascot because of fast ground, so she won’t mind if there is any cut in it here.

She was impressive at York but didn’t quite fire in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot but, with no reason as to why, we’re putting it down to just being one of those things. She’s in good form at home and would look to have a good chance in the Molecomb (15:00).

Alcohol Free  runs in the Sussex Stakes (15:35) and it’s no surprise that we’ve got high hopes for her. She’s been great this season and winning the Coronation at Royal Ascot was thrilling.

She’ll like the ground as she doesn’t mind a bit of juice underfoot. We’re hoping she gets a toe into the race off a true race pace, as that would suit her better. She’s in good form.

Frankella  has shown good gate speed in her two latest starts, so we’re dropping her down to 5f (16:10).

I don’t think it was the soft ground that undid her at Salisbury, I just don’t think she truly stayed 7f in it. She won’t be too far away.

Achelois  is stepping up in trip in the 16:45 and won’t mind the ground at all. She’s in great form at home. It’s a competitive race but she has done well this season.

Sandown runners

Discomatic has had a bit of time off, but his fitness levels seem good at home. He’ll come on for the run but could be competitive in this grade (17:55).

Hoo Ya Mal is having his first start and, like most of ours, will come on for having their first run. He’s shown a good level of ability at home, so I’d like to think he’ll run with credit (18:55).

Winterwatch will appreciate any rain as that will be to his advantage. He’s stepping up in trip by two furlongs and that should suit him well, but this is a strong race for the grade (19:25).

Calcutta Cup has been off so far this season but showed a very fair level of form last term. He’s a smart horse who could run well if they get some rain. It’ll be good to get him back on the track (19:55).

Florence Street ran well at Newbury last time out where she finished second. The extra furlong will suit her, and she handles slow ground so, if they get rain at Sandown, then she could have a good chance (20:25).
