14:25 Goodwood – Berkshire Shadow

Betway ambassador Andrew Balding has a very promising set of juveniles this season and the unbeaten Berkshire Shadow is among those at the top of that.

He was impressive on his debut at Newbury where he got it all wrong and still managed to win, and backed that up with a taking performance in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He’s shaped as though he’ll want this extra furlong and although he has a 3lb penalty he should have too much class for his rivals, most of whom he’s beaten before.

15:00 Goodwood – Space Blues , Pogo (each-way)

I was very impressed with the way that Space Blues improved last season and he stamped himself as the best 7f horse in Europe with some dominant performances, including in this race a year ago.

He is simply the most talented horse in this field and is the chosen mount of William Buick, who has been riding out of his skin.

At a much bigger price, Pogo has great place prospects. While he would like a quicker surface, he was second to Happy Power – who also has a great each-way chance in this race – on soft ground and has improved since then.

He ran incredibly well in the Group 1 Queen Anne at Royal Ascot this year and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go well from the front.

15:35 Goodwood – Emperor Of The Sun (each-way)

The staying division is wide open as Stradivarius comes towards the end of his racing career, and while I don’t think Emperor Of The Sun will hit the heights the aforementioned great has, I do think he’ll be able to win a Group 1 over 2m.

He was very impressive in the Saval Beg on his penultimate start before running well, but from way off the pace, in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

I think this contest will be a truer run race without the pace of Subjectivist, and as a winner on soft ground before I think he’ll go very well under Gavin Ryan.
