Our expert reveals his best bets for winning a rollover jackpot of £20,000 in our free-to-play prediction game for Saturday's finale to the Grand National Festival.
4 To Win is Betway's free-to-play prediction game running throughout the Grand National Festival at Aintree.
Simply guess the winner from four chosen races for your chance to win, with the jackpot rolling over every day the prize goes unclaimed.
We had a winner on Thursday but none on Friday, meaning that there is £20,000 up for grabs on Saturday.
Here are Alan Alger's top tips for day three...
15.00 – NOVICES' CHASE
TOP PICK: PETIT MOUCHOIR
Second choice: Shantou Rock
Petit Mouchoir will be a popular choice to get everyone safely over the bridge to race two.
I could try and make a case for one of the others, but this looks a race to keep it simple.
Davy Russell is on board and should guide this seven-year-old home with minimum fuss.
15.40 – BETWAY HANDICAP CHASE
TOP PICK: HOLLY BUSH HENRY
Second choice: Casse Tete
The second race is far tougher.
Betway ambassador Richard Johnson has a good chance of getting into the Aintree winners’ enclosure again with Thomas Patrick for the in-form Tom Lacey stable.
Holly Bush Henry was a beaten favourite last time out, but had excuses.
James Bowen is a capable jockey and claims a valuable 3lb.
16.20 – STAYERS HURDLE
TOP PICK: WHOLESTONE
Second choice: The Worlds End
This looks a two-horse race between Sam Spinner and Wholestone.
I’m going for the latter, who has connections that have been in fantastic form this week, firing in winners in valuable races with Daryl Jacob.
It’s worth noting that their L’Ami Serge is also declared for the race after winning on Thursday here at Aintree.
17.15 – GRAND NATIONAL
TOP PICK: VIEUX LION ROUGE
Second choice: The Dutchman
The biggest race of the year, and the most difficult one in which to find the winner.
SPs in the last few years have ranged around 33/1, with a peak at 100/1.
Using the trends, we probably need a horse around nine years old carrying just under 11st.
They will definitely need to suit the rain sodden ground and, quite obviously, stay this marathon trip.
A horse that ticks all the boxes is Vieux Lion Rouge.
We know he can get round and, now he’s a little older, we can have faith that he’ll improve on his last two placings in the contest.
