If The Cap Fits in the Ryanair Stayers’ Hurdle (16:40) is one of our best chances across the whole of the National meeting.

We’re stepping up to three miles for the first time and I couldn't be any more confident that he'll see out the trip.

He saw out 2m 3½f well in the Grade 2 Ascot Hurdle back in November and actually looked as though he wanted further.

His pedigree suggests three miles shouldn't be a problem and, while you don't know for sure until you've tried it, I have every confidence he will see it out.

We’ve put cheekpieces on him for the first time as he raced a little bit lazily in his last couple of starts so hopefully that will help too.

Unowhatimeanharry  runs in the same race having been off the track since the Grade Two Cleeve Hurdle in January.

He was running a good race that day before fading and finishing eighth. He came back with blood in his nostril and that turned out to be a low grade infection. Thankfully we’ve not seen any signs of it since.

He's had a good break and he seems fresh and well. As an 11-year-old it isn’t getting any easier for him, but he’s been in really good form at home and there’s no reason why he can’t run another big race.

Grand National

The Grand National is the race that really got me into racing. I've loved it from a very early age. As kids we used to pull the cushions off the sofa, build them up as fences in the garden and pretend we were riding in the race.

It's the one that everybody wants to win and it would be great to have a runner in it soon.

As for this year's renewal, Tiger Roll  is a worthy red-hot favourite. Not many National winners come out and remain unbeaten the next season, so he deserves to be as short as he is.

He’s an extraordinary horse and if there’s ever one going to be one to repeat Red Rum's back-to-back heroics then he’s the most likely candidate.

However, there’s 40 runners, 30 fences and over four miles so you can never be too sure.

I quite like Lake View Lad {ODDS: 401299203:14/1} in Trevor Hemmings' colours. He’s a half-brother to Neon Wolf, so we’ve been following him a bit and he's got some very good form in the book, not least at Cheltenham the last day.

We're also wishing good luck to our neighbour Anthony Honeyball who has Regal Encore  in the race. He jumps and stays, has a top jockey on board in Mark Walsh and Anthony has been targeting this race for him all season.
