Winners this week

Both Onefortheroadtom and Mr One More were nice winners in the week.

We'll be looking at bringing them both out again in novice company in the next three to four weeks.

There are no concrete plans, but we'd like to get another run into them in this company.

Cheltenham on Saturday

I've got two at Cheltenham on Saturday, starting with Henryville in the 3m 1f chase (2.00pm).

Having run two nice races in the spring, winning at Cheltenham and Newton Abbot, he went up in the weights and hasn't been off a mark that he can win off since.

He's slowly coming down the handicap but probably needs a bit more help yet.

The 3m 1f trip is probably a bit further than ideal, but it's been a case of finding a race off his current rating whilst the ground is still in his favour.

He's certainly ready to run and will take his chance.

Whataknight goes in the three-mile handicap hurdle (3.45pm).

He whipped round at the start last time out at Newton Abbott and started 10 lengths away.

Noel Fehily said he had to work pretty hard to make up ground and get into the race, but finishing third having given 10 lengths away at the start isn't a bad effort.

He's come out of that race in good form and he's capable of being competitive here.

Aintree on Sunday

The veterans' chases are very competitive this season and Sunday's contest (1.50pm) at Aintree looks just that.

Shuil Royale won this race 12 months ago and we're hoping lightning can strike twice.

He ran a nice enough race on his comeback run at Chepstow and hopefully he'll put in a good performance again. He's a couple of pounds better off in the weights this year, too.

At 12, he's not getting any younger but is still full of enthusiasm and deserves another go in the race.

Bags Groove goes in the two and half mile handicap hurdle (2.25pm).

He's in good form after the Silver Trophy, which was a messily-run affair.

They slowed right up down the back straight and then sprinted in the finish - it wasn't a grueling test. Hopefully we'll get a more even tempo on here.

We're up against Philip Hobbs' Sneaky Feeling again.

He beat Bags Groove by a neck at Newbury last season, and seeing as we're getting 3lbs today, I'm hoping we can be in the shake-up.
